The Chedi Al Bait, Sharjah’s most exclusive hotel, is now part of an ultra-luxury hotel portfolio.

Sharjah’s most luxurious hotel opened its doors to guests in December 2018, quickly winning both acclaim and awards as one of the region’s most remarkable new hotels. Travel + Leisure magazine named the property in its influential 2020 IT List, one of only two hotels in the Middle East—and only five in the past five years—to make the listing of the best new hotels in the world.

Just 45 minutes from Dubai, The Chedi Al Bait is unusual for the region. Not only is it a small, intimate hotel, but it is also a piece of history. At its heart are four historical houses that have been given a new lease on life. Shaped by its setting in a warren of narrow alleyways in Sharjah’s heritage quarter—where rich Islamic architecture meets a bold contemporary art scene—the hotel’s meticulous design pays homage to Emirati heritage, its furnishings are made by local artisans. Travel + Leisure noted that “you’ll feel at home but you will live like royalty.” In fact its name, Al Bait, means “the home”.

In March, the boutique hotel was rebranded by operator GHM, moving under the umbrella of one of the world’s most fabled hospitality brands—The Chedi.
